Supreme Court affirms Governor Fayemi as Ekiti State Governor

The Supreme Court  today 31st May 2013, declined jurisdiction in an appeal by Segun Oni, former Governor of Ekiti State against the decision of the Court of Appeal declaring Governor Fayemi as the valid winner of the 2007 election.

Among other grounds, the Court declined Jurisdiction that as at the time the election was conducted and petitioned, the Court of Appeal had the final say in respect of election matters.

This is considered a well considered judgment of the Court.
